books
This week I have finished off 5 books and read 2 cover to cover :)
One of those was a picture book haha
But just as worthy I might add!
I told myself I couldn't start a new book until I had finished off at least two of my 'on the go' pile.
The one I was dying to read was by the mother-daugher duo P.J Tracy - amazing! I love them!!!! This is their 5th book in the series and they're wonderful!!!
On the note of books. I bought some lovely ones in Harrogate. Its interesting to see what different stores stock and I bought a few... One on beaches, one on seashells, one on beach stones and an indian cookbook/memoir. I won't cook the recipes (too spicy) but I shall hopefully enjoy the read.
From work the other day I bought The Blind Side and a book on the periodic table and the uses and occurances of each element!

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;

hello
i am just chatting with my lovely friend Felicia and have literally just finished watching Julie & Julia- which i LOVED, it wasnt an up and down movie, no rollercoaster ride here, but it was warm and you felt for both the women involved and it was sweet and the food looked v.yummy! i also have a pile of magazines sat on my lap to go thru before i go to bed! i keep buying them as i used to, well actually less so, but i never have the time to go thru them anymore...
my hair looks so nice when i DO it, but i can never be arsed to DO it. so it looks a bit crap. so no photos. i might do it tomorrow. i think we're going to our fave restaurant. my treat. we havent been in months.
im no further along with the wedding. not really, ive seen som jimmy choos i like but i dont think i can warrant spending the £325 on a pair of shoes just cos im getting married. like really, that could buy the cake tower no matter what we make it out of!
the boyf got all excited and wanted to watch the battlestar galactica (furthermore called BSG) season one box set i bought months before xmas that mum packed and i found a few weeks back in a box... sooo season one, disc one, episode one... "previosuly on BSG..." what? huh? this is the first, how can there be this? wtf? so we watched 2 episodes and nothing, NOTHING made any sense. why? well because they did a mini series and didnt put it in the box set, so really this is season 2 isnt it? as they already did some episodes before, that would be season 1, or season 1 part 1, and the box set i have that starts with '33' would then be season 1 part 2. nothing on it says we should have watched 'the mini series' first. nothing. its made me angry, but its coming from amazon, to work for just £4 reduced from £12.99 (i should fucking hope so for 3 fucking hours for probable shite)
i bought another Ashley Jackson print (this one unframed- the lady in the shop was very miffed i didnt want her shit frame- she had to cut the back off it) Ashley was in his gallery when i went and showed me all the originals that he still has. theyre pretty good, i either love them or im not keen, i bought this one more for the boyf, he has a love of the sea, the beach, lakes, water, i do too but he really really warms at the sight of anything to do with them. so i bought a print of Ashleys Morcambe bay, you can see the mountains behind and the sky is dark and moody as it is. so its sat wrapped in cellophane and sat on my big white painted fireplace in my lounge (the mini print of the moors is sat over the boyf's sofa with the light on the settled water up the moors)
before work today i cleaned the master bathroom, im finding i have to do 'one job' a morning now to get stuff done. else nothing ever gets done, last week one day i did the kitchen, i mean, we clean it down in between, but this was a proper, get everything off, move everything, clean everything, minimalise, throw out etc. same with the bathroom today. in both rooms the only thing i didnt do was the floors, im not good with floors.
this morning i burst into tears. the oven did it again. it winds me up. it burns and destroys my food. I CAN COOK. i can, i make great food, i made amazing things when i lived at my mum and dads. cooking on their AGA. this gas range we have? its horrific. it never lights, it takes forever to warm up, it burns everthing, its not constant. the aga was constant. i miss the aga. so i burnt my amazing american bacon. and the second set of eggs i did over cooked. its a good job le beau was there else id have dragged it out onto the street and smashed it with a hammer. i would. i despise it. he calmed me down and cooked my food for me while i then played games on facefook (intentional 'f')
my cousin Sally and i took her daughter to Eureka which is an AMAZING childrens museum. i shall post some pics of Florence having the time of her life. afterwards i droves us to a cheap shop called B&M Bargains (i only go such places with my cousin Sally- she is a bargain hunter extrordinaire!) i got some duster mitts and some tealight lanterns and hit Florence on the head with a basket (she walked into it- just the right height) and then we went to ASDA which is where the SCUM OF THE EARTH do their weekly shop. i have a 3 door car and it had its first ever baby seat in (containing Florence) so we needed a parent and child space so we could get her out. it was sunday, ASDA was heaving. we drove round and i spotted a man loading his kids into his car. score, pulled in, indicated. then the guy 2/3 cars a head did the same and he put his reversing light on. i asked Sally if i should just drive in, she said yes, i did, then there was a smash on my window and an f-ing and blinding man screaming and shouting at me for stealing his space and how he'd been waiting for 'ten fucking minutes' and what the fuck did i think i was doing? i had to get out of his fucking space now and i was a fucking bitch- he ranted for 10 entire minutes all the time with 2 year old Florence and his 7 year old son (no need for a parent and child space) watching and listening. i mean. really- what. the. fuck. Sally i think is still fuming. and its Tuesday night. shes a police officer and couldnt do anything because she was wearing Fitflops and had Florence with her. we watching him drive round 3 or 4 times. i expected to come back to my car and have numerous horrific words carved into the metal work. tosser.
why why why havent they put Grey's Anatomy on box set for season 6? why why why, ive had season 5 forever. and we're nearly finished. i cant watch it online. the boyf wont do that. he'll get tetchy. arnt they on season 7 now?
anyway. this isnt getting my pile of magazines read and its 1am on Wednesday the 5th of May, for all those that read this and are still on tuesday time- May the 4th be with you! (happy Star Wars day)
xx

4) i came home the other day and the boyf had put a second coat of teal on my study walls and then yesterday we put part of my desk together. he's told me hes going to touch up the paintwork on monday as he has 4 days off for the holiday and then we can put together the rest of my desk and we can get the two Billy bookcases i need from ikea to go in the room and i can start to set the room up and then maybe, just maybe i can go thru the ridic pile of shite im harbouring in the room next to it!

erm...?
not much to say really, but Felicia has requested i blog... :P
er, Friday to Tuesday i was pretty much just in bed (or the bathroom) with this stomach bug (so much like salmonella!) the boyf wouldnt let me come downstairs til Monday afternoon! (apart from when Glyn took me to my parents for sunday tea- wasnt a good idea, i seemed to get motion sickness in the car)
Tuesday we had a little trip to Tesco's where i kept loosing balance and was sooooo tired! Wednesday we went to dinner 'cos i had no energy to cook, three hours after we got back i spent most of my night in the bathroom... ugh! Thursday i drove to my parents and they were off to the garden centre at Shelley, so i went too (and was bought lots of things) then Friday morning, tho id had nasty tummy pains, i got dressed and walked to work! my knee is killing me also, and halfway my legs turned to jelly and i wished id driven but i got there, sat down for half an hour then started my shift- which seemed really really really f'ing long...
last night i got an early night as yet again my laptop packed up and died so i had a bath, read a bit and was in bed at half 9, i woke up at 5.30, went back to sleep and got up at half 8! Royal Mail say they tried to deliever us a parcel but we heard no knocking, banging or the doorbell, so we think they lied. now we have to go fetch the parcel from town. on Monday. fuckers. i needed them today.
well anyway, this morning we called in at the florist and i picked up from baby daffs/narcissus up for mum for mothers day seeing as i wont see her- then we went ot our wedding venue and paid our £500 deposit (!!!) we walked round the grounds of the hotel and i took a few pics. then we called in at my parents house, we played with the dogs, watched her make an egg custard and then went to my farm to get some meat from the butchers, so 2 sirloin steaks, a half dozen cumberland sausages, some dripping, a scotch egg, a cornish pasty, a steak and guinness pasty, a pork pie and a steak pie we went and called on my grandad. now were in the lounge watching live rugby on tv... im about to go and do some washing then i might go tidy the front bedroom. or make our tea... we were meant to go to a shopping mall today but my knee hurting and the boyfs ankle hurting, we cant drive much
so thats this week. erm... work tomorrow... x
p.s. its been sunny today, sunny and cold
pps. ive read so so so many books since i started my holiday 2 weeks ago, especially when ive been ill this past week.

yay
for starters, my friend from dayoldnews has given me some wonderful wedding starting support/advice and im today off to buy some big card for moodboards so i can pin/stick all my loves to it, as i need to come up with some sort of theme...
yesterday i got a rocket up my ass following mondays cleaning and tidying, and when i got up (stupidly early if you ask me) at half eight (im on holiday grr) and started sorting the attic, which i have to say is now clear! theres Sylvainia in one corner, my art supplies in another, boardgames in a third and a few boxes of toys in a forth, but its clear! yay! first time since we've moved in, and i did all in the sliding storage cupboard up there too, as thats where most of the detritus went!
then, i started on the little room, which has wardrobes with all my clothes in, and up til now, stored all my shoes, boots and books and bags and all other kinds of flotsum and jetsam thats somehow worked its way in... anyway, i started on it, then lisa came over and helped me finish it (infact, she moved most of the stuff before i realised) so now all my books and, ahem, crap are in the room im still sleeping in due to the boyfs shoulder and his sudden horrific snoring... and all my shoes?? theyre lining the stairs to the attic, i have loads, im going to get rid of some... as i have (including sandals/boots etc) over 40 pairs. all my sandals are in drawers in my wardrobe, my boots are sat infront of them... just so many! and 85% i cant wear in this weather, which sucks... too cold damnit!
after that we went to my dentist, lisa signed up and i had my teeth cleaned, then talking to my hygenist, she said she'd just add us on herself this aft and jump the queue for us! whoop! so lisa and the boyf will soon have ace dentists!
then... lisa and i headed off shopping to THE TRAFFORD CENTRE, which rocks, and we did a 'bit' of shopping, i ate sushi first, then i bought a keyring, 4 amazing keepsake photo boxes, theyre like, a thick photoframe that you can pin things inside, like scraps of material, or like, a lock of hair, or a starfish or something, yknow, for holidays or babies or whatever, im well excited, and i got money off! then lisa bought a Denon stereo- well chuffed with that (i love my Denon stereo), she amusingly made the guy play Roots Radicals off my iPod really loud to try out a soundsystem! haha, he looked so uncomfortable!
i bought american magazines, a book on Canada (to go with my USA and New Zealand guides so we can choose a bloody honeymoon!) i bought 2 sweaters in French Connection (cos i dont have enough 'nice' clothes) and many many pairs of socks (6 in The Gap and i think 12 in Topshop) and i also got another 'nice' top in topshop and... in Selfridges at the Cath Kitson consession i got a new hangbag, which is green and spotty and marvelous and some earrings with butterflys on and some tote bags (as if i dont actually have enough), then i came home and had lemon marmalade on bread which is my fave snack atm... mmm
oooh, i didnt tell you did i? there was also candy floss, a bag of- from the popcorn vendor outside french connection... lisa and i fair devoured that... mmm

:(
last night we went to bed at 10pm, and i couldnt get to sleep, so i read. alot. i finished my Jasper Fforde book, something rotten, then still couldnt sleep. so i came down to play on the computer, felt tired, went to bed, fell asleep but not right away, it was after 3 by the time i went out. woke today at ten. knackered now!
said today we could go to Manchester, but only if we went on the train, which the boyf is claiming is too expensive but im saying will be cheaper then parking, and tbh my chest hurts (will come to that) and i dont want to drive, especially now im tired!
so yeah, my chest, it so needs cracking, its killing me! you know when you need to crack a finger, or your neck or a shoulder or something? same thing but its like, the butterfly's body part of my breastbone, and its been getting worse for days, it hurts so bad, it even itches, wtf if you please.
the new manager at work is ruffling some feathers and im sure everyone is going to jump ship soon! shes the area managers pet and seems to be upsetting everyone, shes out of the office for less than 5% of the day, which sucks, how are you supposed to know what your shop is doing?
i need so spend less time with the boyf, i can see myself annoying him and yet i cant stop, i just want to be near him all the time, which i know is bad, he needs his breathing space and so do i, but its all just getting on top of me. the wedding is doing my head in cos no one will help me look at venues, everyone just says that its too soon (but dont you have to book, like, 2 years in advance to get somewhere nice?) and my mum especially wont even come look at dresses with me, she says its too soon (she wants me to get married in the same church she did and have the reception on the lawn at their house down the road whereas we're both athiests and dont want to!) we wrote out a guestlist and i think the maximum for, well, even the evening do is 70, the actual wedding, 55?
and i really really miss my dogs :(

argh
today is going so slowly! i'm so bored!
i woke at 8 am and totally couldn't get back to sleep, so at half nine i finally started tidying up and clearing stuff up and clearing stuff out again, yesterday i accumulated a refuse sack of possessions i no longer want or need to take to the charity shop at the end of the week, tho i find it impossible to get rid of books, there is a little pile in there also...
i've had a bath and lazed in the sun in my room and read a bit of The Birthing House (getting creepier), i was annoyed the boyf isn't here to coat me in body lotion tho, so my body is dry...
i've made a vegetable risotto and some sugar cookies (which i shall ice in a bit when they have cooled and decorate- i know they'll be sickly sweet)...
i've bummed about online, i've put on stupid clothes (i so wouldn't leave the house looking like this)...
*fatbag* is looking quite neat and tidy. *fatbag* was a bag at one point, then one of those storage cases, and now it is 2 gigantic plastic boxes, on wheels, that stacks in one of my wardrobes (2x63l) that are full of clothes that are too big, too small, or out of season in one, and the denim/surf shorts of this and my purses, wallets and clutches in another. yesterday i tried on everything in fatbag and got rid of the above, i might put a list up of everything i threw out... and i went thru my entire wardrobe (quite a feat) and updated *fatbag*, and put other stuff right into the charity bag!
i get way too attached to clothes, but yesterday i was a bit brutal...
i've yet to go thru my jackets and such. they're in the vestibule.
i need to remember to do that!
i've listened to lily allen's new album today about 12 times. yesterday about 3. and yesterday i listened to pinks new album 5 or so times. they both rock!
i think my cacti have had it. i watered them all on Sunday (them being my plants in my room, 2 cacti, a weird hair-like succulent and a trio of hyacinth). anyway when i looked today, they've not absorbed any of the water, even tho they were quite dry and the weird cacti (loads of lumps stuck together) was drying up in its body, it kind of inverts... anyway, as usual, ive killed them all...

oh and The Birthing House...
...is really freakily scary and is creeping me the fuck out!
sorry for my language but i don't wanna read it anymore but its against my nature to just stop reading a book, just incase. and i always wanna know what happens. in the past 5 years, i've only stopped one. that was The Historian, by Kostova, on my bfs advice, when i was agonizing with it- he said it wasn't worth it.
